We are grateful to collect books for the Los Angeles community. The drive ran from January 21st through February 14th. We accept all genres of children's books. These books will be donated to elementary school students affected by the recent wildfires. Our book distribution event occurred on February 1st and 2nd at St. Monica's Church in Santa Monica. All unclaimed books will be donated to the elementary school libraries that burned.
Chapters of Hope was created by Christine Hart, a 15-year-old Palisadian. After the Palisades Fire burned through Christine's home and elementary school, she saw a young girl crying to her mother about losing all her books. As an avid reader herself, Christine empathized with the young girl's loss. She created Chapters of Hope as a way to restore some of the joy felt by so many children through reading.
We are very grateful to have the support of Proskauer Rose LLP, Century City Chamber of Commerce, Century Park Towers, and Sally Bradley. All have been instrumental in allowing this book drive to happen. Thank you.
